Priority-Based Liner Versions

Liner Versions let you rotate versions evenly or add run dates for updates to a liner.

Using Liner Versions

vPromotions Priority-Base Liners have a Versions feature, that you might not know about.

Liner Versions let you rotate multiple versions of the same liner to evenly distribute multiple client mentions, for example.

You can give each version its own run dates as well, for automatic updating such as when you want at liner to say "This Saturday" Monday through Thursday, "Tomorrow" on Friday and "Today" on Saturday.

And you can do both creating versions that rotate within run dates, and additional versions that rotate within different run dates.

Each version is given a letter (A, B, C,...) so you can see at a glance which version is scheduled in each Liner Slot on the main Liners grid.

How to Use Versions

While adding a liner (either a PRF Liner for a Promotion or a Program Liner), fill out the information as you normally would. In Liner Frequency enter the frequency for all of the rotating versions combined (i.e. Qty Per Day of 20 with 2 rotating versions would be 10 each per day), and then:

  • Check "Create Multiple Versions." That will move the Start Time and End Time fields down into the versions.
  • Enter a Client for the version and click the green + button to add multiple versions.
  • On each additional version you can either:
    1. Check the "Rotate with previous version" box which will remove the Start Time and End Time fields and rotate that version with the version(s) above it.
    2. Leave the check box unchecked and give that version its own Start Time and End Time. Then you can rotate additional versions with it by adding versions and checking the "Rotate with previous version" box on them.

That's all there is to it!

Editing Versions in the Liner Queue

Once you have saved your liner versions to the Liner Queue, the versions will each be listed in the queue as a separate liner. You can edit them just like any other liner, bearing in mind that editing one rotating version will affect all of the other rotating version as well.

So if A, B, and C are rotating and you change anything about the scheduling of version B, all three will be changed. Versions with differing Start Times and End Times will not be affected. You'll see this note at the top if your changes will affect other versions.
