Reference File Access for Voice Talent in vProMedia

vProMedia can allow voice talent to access regular production files attached to a spot for reference while completing a voice assignment.

Previously, voice talent access was limited primarily to their own voice uploads. With this feature enabled for a firm, voice talent can also access other production files on the spot that may help them complete their work.

What Voice Talent Can Do

When the firm setting is enabled, voice talent can:

  • View regular production files attached to the spot.
  • Listen to applicable reference files.
  • Download files for reference.

This access is read-only. Voice talent cannot edit or delete the production files. File management remains with the production team.

How It Works

The feature is controlled by a firm setting. Once that setting is enabled for the firm, voice talent working on a spot can access regular production files associated with that spot in addition to their own voice files.

No additional edit or delete permissions are granted by enabling the feature.

How This Helps

Reference materials can give voice talent more context before recording.

For example, the production team may have already attached audio, scripts, examples, or other production assets that help communicate the intended sound or direction of the spot. Giving voice talent direct reference access reduces the need for the production team to separately download and resend those materials.

This can help:

  • Give voice talent better context for an assignment.
  • Reduce back-and-forth between voice talent and production staff.
  • Keep reference materials connected to the spot instead of distributing duplicate files separately.
  • Provide useful access without granting production-file editing or deletion rights.
