As with any promotion in the vPromotions system, the first step is to have the promotion approved and on the calendar to denote the date and time of the contest.
Once the PRF is on the calendar, you can go through the set up steps by using the Contest Wizard, which is found in the details page of the PRF.
The Contest Wizard will walk you step by step through the process of setting up your contest.
In the Contest Wizard you can (click save after each step is entered and skip if there is a step you don't need):
1. Assign Jobs/Tasks for the Event. Here is a tutorial on assigning - Jobs/Tasks
2. Create Plays. Each execution of a Contest is a Play. We call it a Play to differentiate each time a winner is chosen from the over all Contest. A Contest can include any number of Plays, but for each Play there can be only one Winner. vPromotions has workflow for different types of contest plays. Here is more specific information on each type of - Contest Plays
3. Assign Prizes. In this step you will assign the proper prize or prize package for the contest and the quantity to be awarded to each winner.
4. Assign Rules. In this step you will assign the proper rules for the contest. Rules are assigned to help verify the winner chosen is eligible to be a winner for this prize. Here is more information on - Contest Rules 
5. Add the Release Form. The release form is what your winners sign when they claim a prize. In the Contest Wizard step, the default release form will populate automatically (as long as it has been created back in your settings). In this view you can leave the release form as it is, or edit it to make it more specific to this contest. Here is more information on - Station Release Forms
6. Create Liners. This is where you can create the liners/live reads your on air team will read to promote the contest.
Once your contest set up steps are complete you can click Close to close out the Contest Wizard.
