We’re excited to share a new vPro update! Here’s a quick look at what’s been improved in this release:
Improved Daily Performance
This release includes core updates to the vProMedia foundation that reduces freezing and crashes, and helps the platform run more reliably during peak hours.
What’s better now:
- Large folders and long spot lists load more quickly
- File uploads complete faster and with fewer interruptions
- Fewer freezes or slowdowns when switching between spots or tabs
- Searches and filter changes respond more promptly
Smoother Spot Editing
We’ve made major improvements to how spots are locked during editing, preventing changes from being lost or overwritten. This release brings a smarter, more transparent spot editing experience.
Now, a spot is automatically locked when you are:
- Editing the title or ISCI (Ad-ID)
- Assigning or unassigning POCs
- Updating dates, spot length, rotation, or cart ID
- Viewing scripts or uploading files
If someone else is already editing a spot, you’ll see a clear message letting you know it’s locked. Once they finish, the spot unlocks in under 15 seconds—giving the system time to complete all necessary updates.
📌 Note: Locking does not occur when selecting multiple requests for bulk actions using the far-left checkbox.
Examples shown below:
- One user editing a cart ID sees full edit access, while another person viewing the same spot is notified that it’s currently being edited.
- The top user edits the title field while the lower user's view shows the locked status and who is editing.
- In Compact View, locked spots show clearly so you know to wait before editing.
Now, when you make many changes like adding a POC the spot locks, ensuring that your action is fully completed and not overwritten by another user.
The image shows the updated UI when assigning Jobs, displaying the spot lock notification as changes are made.
- More Accurate Saved Folder and Search Filters
We’ve resolved issues with search filters not showing accurate results, particularly when searching for Spec spots or searching by Cart ID. These updates ensure you get the right info without needing to second-guess or double-check spot status. - More Reliable POC Assignments
An issue where assigning a Producer caused the spot to freeze has been fixed. These updates are part of the broader spot editing improvements mentioned above and should improve stability for the team. - File Uploads That Make Sense
Uploaded files now appear in the correct order, with the newest file at the top—no need to refresh the page to see your changes. This resolves an issue multiple stations have encountered when uploading production assets.
📌 Known Issues - The following issues have been identified and will be addressed in an upcoming release:
- Searching from a Custom Folder
When starting a search from a Custom Folder, you would normally see two options: "Search from Current Folder" and "Search All Folders." Currently, these options are not appearing for all custom folders. Instead, the system will display the main Search Panel without the folder-specific choices. A fix is in progress and will be released soon.
- New Blog Post - Indicator Delay
When a new blog post is published, the red dot (or orange dot in Compact View) that
usually indicates a new message does not appear immediately. While we work on a fix, you can still rely on the in-system notification to stay informed. This notification will appear as usual, and clicking it will take you directly to the associated order.
