  • Variable Cash Contest Definition and Setup: This presentation defines a variable cash contest as a method for managing cash giveaways where the prize amount is not fixed. To initiate this, the user must select "variable cash" as the prize type. When configuring the contest, the user enters the total budget available for the entire event into the "total quantity" field; for example, if the total budget is $5,000, they would enter 5,000. Upon selecting this type, the "value each" field defaults to $1, which is the intended system behavior.
  • Prize Assignment Configuration: When assigning the prize to plays within the contest, there is no quantity field available because the user is assigning a specific dollar amount rather than a set number of items. Following this, the user clicks save and completes the remaining steps in the contest wizard, consistent with the setup process for other contest types.
  • Managing Winners and Payout Tracking: When on-air staff assign a winner for a contest, they input the winner's details and the exact dollar amount awarded in the amount field. Once the winner is assigned and the entry is saved, the system automatically performs the math by subtracting that specific amount from the total available quantity in the prize closet.
