What is a Campaign?
Campaigns are designed to contain multiple promotional items from multiple stations (if needed) on the Calendar to group them together.
Important things to remember about Campaigns
- There is no approval process. Because a Campaign is not an actual Promotion (like a Contest or Event), there is no approval process for the Campaign itself. Sub-PRFs (the PRFs inside the Campaign) go through their normal approval processes though.
- The dates of a Campaign limit what can be in that Campaign. To create a Sub-PRF or move a PRF in to a Campaign, the PRF cannot start before the Campaign starts or end after the Campaign ends.
- The Stations associated with a Campaign limit what can be in that Campaign. Only PRF for Stations that are included in the Campaign can be inside that Campaign.
- Sponsorships can be tracked from the Campaign PRF for multi-station sponsorship opportunities. By going to the Details of the Campaign and clicking the Sponsorship tab, Sponsorships can be created and marked Sold across multiple stations.
- Campaigns can be Recapped just like an individual PRF. Go to the Details of the Campaign, and in the Actions menu, choose "Promotion Recap" to get a recap including all promotions within the Campaign.
To create a Campaign, you'll need access to Campaigns in your PRF Category selector. If you don't see it listed, check with your Promotions Director to see if you can be given access to creating Campaigns. If you are a Promotions and Program Director and Campaign is not listed in Settings / vPromo / PRF Categories, contact vCreative about getting it added.
Creating a Campaign is as simple as submitting a PRF using the Category called Campaign. You'll want to be sure that the run date encompass the entire Campaign and that all stations that are a part of the Campaign are included.
Here is the step-by-step guide to creating a Campaign.
- Click the green "+New PRF" button to create a new PRF.
- Choose Campaign as the first selection on your PRF. After that, all PRF categories that you add will be within the campaign.
- Once you have clicked "Save" to submit the request, you can find your campaign on the calendar as well as by clicking on the Campaigns tab at the top of the Calendar screen.
- To open your Campaign on the calendar, click the Campaign calendar item, and then click “Open Campaign.” That will take you to a calendar containing only those items that are within the Campaign. To return to the Calendar, click "Exit Campaign" in the blue banner at the top of the Calendar.
- To open your Campaign from the Campaigns tab, click the "+" symbol to the left of the campaign name. This will expand the campaign listing all promotions within it.
- You can add additional PRFs to the campaign from either of these screens to complete the campaign.
- Each “SubPRF” within a campaign must be approved individually.
- To access the details of the overall campaign, including the recap, editing dates, etc, you should view or edit the details of the Campaign from the calendar item or from the Campaigns tab.
If you have PRFs that are already on the Calendar, and you decide later to create a Campaign to hold them, PRFs can be moved in and out of Campaigns easily!
