# PRF Category - Types

PRF Category Types are hard-coded into the vPromotions system and affect a lot what you can and cannot do with a specific PRF Category.

**Content** - Content Categories are for information that is being provided to the listeners via any medium. This might include on air promotional liners, web content, email blasts, or text messages. There is no Wizard provided with Content, only the option to add People or add Liners. Content items on the Calendar are markets with a green dot and may be filtered with the green Content filter button.

**Contest** - Contest Categories are for contests or giveaways which would include contest plays, winners, prizes, rules and release forms. Any PRF with a Contest Typed PRF Category will include the Contest Wizard to walk Promotions or Program Directors through setting up the Contest. Contest items on the Calendar will be marked with an orange dot and may be filtered with the orange Contest filter button.

**Event** - Event Categories are for remotes, appearances, or any other type of promotion that happens outside of the building and would include people, special instructions, a location, equipment, and possibly a contest at the event. Event Typed PRF Categories include the Event Wizard which facilitates adding Talent, Promotions, Board Ops, Sales, etc as well as a map to the location, equipment packing list, etc. Event items are marked with a blue dot and may be filtered with the blue Event filter button.
