Now what?
How to convert a SPEC request into a sold spot to be scheduled into the traffic logs and loaded into automation.
In vProMedia, your produced SPEC spot request can be converted into a sold spot with just a few clicks.
Once a SPEC spot is produced, the general workflow is that the producer will update the status to Spot Review. This is the point where you will take this produced proposal ad to your prospective client to acquire a contract for air. If the client decides to buy your SPEC ad, CONGRATULATIONS! Now that you have a contract, all you need to do is turn your SPEC into a SOLD spot in vProMedia.
While the status is still in Spot Review, you will see a Sold It!! button and a Decline button.
Clicking Sold it!! will open the order and automatically update it to a sold spot type. Now traffic information will be required. Enter Start and End dates, Rotation, ensure the assigned station is correct and add any additional traffic information into the Traffic Notes section and re-submit the order. From there, the spot will be processed like all other sold requests. It will be assigned a Cart ID or House Number, a Traffic Coordinator will mark the spot as scheduled once the information is logged and the Production Director will mark the spot as Dubbed (or a custom completion status) to indicate that the Final Spot has been loaded into the playout system. (The workflow may vary if you use the auto dub integration or have a custom workflow)
Clicking Declined will update the spot to the Canceled status where it will still remain in the system but it will move out of the active folders and into the Canceled folder to be retrieved at any time.
