Fulfilling Voice Requests

If you are a talent who does voice work, you'll want to make sure your Voice Profile is set up in your Voice Profile. With that in place, producers and managers will be able to request or assign voice work from you.

Voice work is listed separately from other assignments, specifically in the "Vcoie Requests" Inbox found in your left-hand navigation.

Each voice request can be one of three types:

When any voice request is sent out by a producer that is directed to you or matches with your voice profile, a task notification will notify you:

Direct

When you are specifically chosen to complete voice work, it will either be a request or an assignment. This depends on the settings of the voice pools you are part of. Requests can be "Accepted" or "Declined" by the talent, allowing them to evaluate the content or simply make it clear they won't have it done by the due date. If these options are not present, the requesting producer has your voice pool set to directly assign, or auto-accept all requests.

The "Mine" folder shows only the direct voice requests or assignments. Here, you can Accept/Decline (if an option) or click into the Client Name to get the full details.

The details of a voice request show you details about what is being asked, including:

  • The "Part" (A) you are to read
  • Notes (B) from the producer on how to read it
  • When it is Due (C)
  • Access to the script, whether it is provided in the system (D) or as an attached file (E)
  • Blog tool (F) can be used to ask the requesting producer for feedback or clarification
  • Your final audio needs to be uploaded (G) for the producer to have access

As soon as you upload your audio files, the request will auto-complete and the requesting producer is notified.

All Swim

When time is of the essence, or the producer just doesn't need to specifically request a talent by name, an All Swim is requested. These are "toss-ups" where the first available person should grab it. In fact, you click the "Grab" button in the Status column to claim the All Swim as a request that you will do.

Audition

Producers sometimes want to hear a few talents give their reads, maybe as try-outs for a long-term gig or just to pick the "perfect" voice along w/ the advertiser's input. For these requests, an Audition is put out, usually limited to a few or various voice categories. If you match any of the chosen categories you can see these types of requests and submit your part to be in the running.
