Troubleshooting Autodub General FAQ

This is a guide to help you with some basic troubleshooting of the autodub process. The first thing you need to know is that every autodubbing case will be different. Answers that will be correct for one firm will not necessarily be the same for another station of the same firm or the same automation type.

  • What is autodub? -- Autodub is a process that takes spots attached to a production order in vPPO and moves the audio and metadata for the spot (start and stop dates, client name, and title/ISCI) into the studio automation system.
  • Where are the settings for autodub located? -- The settings are located in the Integrations section of the Site Profile of the firm settings. You can verify that autodub is turned on, as well as verify the configuration for the firm. Autodub is enabled when the checkbox is ticked. Clicking the blue "config" link opens the configuration for the firm.
  • Does the station need to configure anything on their end? -- We will handle the configuration in the firm settings but there will be a station-specific setup for the automation system that is being dubbed to. The next step will depend on who is doing the configuration.
  • What do the configuration options do? -- Some of the options designate the individual form or station using autodub. Another sets the integration pathway. There are a number of options that control how things look in the studio and how things behave in the studio. You can find more details about configuration options and how to set them in this article.
  • How can I tell if autodub has been present for a firm and subsequently removed? -- Check the account settings for any person with dub ability. If they are missing the Auto Dubs and Auto Dub Failures folders, but the Missing QCs folder is present, that means that autodub was present at some point and subsequently disabled.
