Counterpoint - vPPO Integration HD Staff

Counterpoint is a traffic system for media networks which manages network inventory. Currently exclusive to Univision Network. Univision uses this software for only the Univision - Network station.

How it works

The Counterpoint setup is handled by development, but first some information is required to customize the import configuration.Required information
  • (Number) Target Ad Type
  • (CSV) Target Stations
Extra information
  • (String) Are scripts sent in bulk? If so, what character or group of characters delimit each script?
  • (CSV) Are there a group of users that should be weighed and auto-assigned as producer? If so, list the users
  • (Number) Should the Due Date be generated upon receipt? If so, how many days in the future should the due date be?
  • (0 or 1) Do the spots need to be grouped into Production Orders if they have the same cart or traffic ID?
After the information is collected, development will create a JSON object housing the information and place it in the database for the target markets

The user enters an order using traffic instructions in Counterpoint.

NOTE: If the order doesn't appear in vPPO after submission, the user can change this status field back to Not Sent so Counterpoint will send the order again.

Once the order is submitted the Counterpoint user will receive a popup notification.

Once the order/cart goes through in Counterpoint, that order will be visible in the user's vPPO account.

Producer POC will be auto assigned. The round robin style assignment will assign only to the hub directors. They can be reassigned locally.

The only history in vPPO for this new orders will be stating the order was created via API.

AE POC will be auto assigned if a contract was entered in the order in Counterpoint. Additional AE's will be assigned in vPPO.

Additional notes:

  • New orders and changes to existing orders are done in Counterpoint
  • Revisions and extend dates are done in Counterpoint
  • Adding files is done in vPPO
  • Scripts can be imported from Counterpoint, but are most often added in vPPO after submission either via file or script box.
  • Counterpoint orders do autodub via RCS

This is a video from a Univision user showing how the order is created in Counterpoint and how it shows in vPPO. (the process starts about 2 minutes in and ends at about 8:25)
