Custom Rights: Adjusting Individual User Permissions

Adjust individual user permissions without changing their assigned group.

Custom Rights allow administrators to adjust permissions for an existing user without changing their assigned group. This is useful when you need to modify access to a specific section or a few features while keeping the user in their current role.

Important: If a user requires additional access beyond what their current group allows, we recommend updating their group instead (for example, changing a Promotions Assistant to a Promotions Director).

When to Use Custom Rights

  • Adjust access to a specific section (e.g., Contests)

  • Enable or disable a small number of permissions

  • Make quick, targeted changes without impacting the user’s overall role

How to Update Custom Rights

  1. Log in to PromoSuite Next.

  2. Navigate to the Security tab.

  3. Click User Management.

  4. Locate the user by:

    • Entering their first name, last name, or email and clicking the Search icon, or

    • Clicking the Folder icon in the toolbar to browse users.

  5. Once the user profile appears, click the Custom Rights tab on the left-hand side.

  6. A drop-down style menu will display different sections of the program.

  7. Select the appropriate station and section (for example, Contests).

  8. Update the permissions as needed.

  9. Click Save to apply the changes.

Note: Changes will not apply until the user logs out of their account and signs back in.

Security Restrictions

For security reasons, some accounts do not have permission to modify certain settings, such as SSN-related permissions. If you are unable to change these settings, access has been restricted by your company.

In this case, we recommend reaching out to your internal administrator or company contact directly for assistance.
